2020-2020 Alabama Mourning Dove Hunting Season
The State of Alabama has 70 days of dove hunting.
In the south zone, which includes the counties of Baldwin, Barbour, Coffee, Covington, Dale, Escambia, Geneva, Henry, Houstoon and Mobile, dove season opens October 4 at 12 o'clock noon and continues until sunset. The following day, October 5, 2020 dove season continues at one-half hour before sunrise and ends at sunset until November 2, 2020. The next session of dove hunting begins on November 27 at one-half hour before sunrise and ends at sunset each day until November 30. The final session of dove hunting in the south zone of Alabama begins one-half hour before sunrise on December 6 and concludes at sunset on January 10, 2020. During this dove season hunters are allowed 15 dove a day with a 15 bird possession.
In the north zone, which includes the counties of Autauga, Bibb, Blount, Bullock, Butler, Calhoun, Chambers, Cherokee, Chilton, Choctaw, Clarke, Clay, Cleburne, Colbert, Conecuh, Coosa, Crenshaw, Cullman, Dallas, Decatur, DeKalb, Elmore, Etowah, Fayette, Franklin, Greene, Hale, Jackson, Jefferson, Lamar, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Lee, Limestone, Lowndes, Macon, Madison, Marengo, Marion, Marshall, Monroe, Montgomery, Morgan, Perry, Pickens, Pike, Randolph, Russell, St. Clair, Shelby, Sumter, Talladega, Tallapoosa, Tuscaloosa, Walker, Washington, Wilcox and Winston, dove season opens September 6, 2020 at 12 o'clock noon and continues until sunset. The following day, September 7, 2020, dove season continues at one-half hour before sunrise and ends sat sunset until October 5, 2020. The next session of dove hunting in the north zone begins on October 25, 2020 at one-half hour before sunrise and ends at sunset on November 15, 2020. The final session of dove hunting in the north zone of Alabama beginss one-half hour before sunrise on December 13, 2020 and ends at sunset on December 30, 2020. Dove hunters in the north zone of Alabama are also limited to 15 dove per day with a 15 bird possession. All hunting rules and regulations that pertain to dove hunting in the State of Alabama must be adhered to. This includes licenses, which must be obtained by hunters who are 16 or older or younger than 65 years old. Also, hunters that were born after August 1, 1977 must have completed a hunter's education course and all licensed hunters must have a HIP (Harvest Information Program) certificate.
