Ghost Hunting
Ghosts, and shows or books about ghost hunting can literally keep my attention for hours. If you get a kick out of reading about them, imagine the thrill you'd get actually hunting them!
The unknown is fascinating, and you'll get this unexplainable kick out of it when searching and trying to prove the existence of things people don't want, or just don't believe in. It's a deep passion for most people who do it. There are some tips and little rules that should be followed though. Things such as: Don't trespass, unless you're absolutely willing to get caught/prosecuted, hurt, or injured by whatever may be out in certain areas (like abandoned structures, dark places with lots of debris). I have gone on a few little ghost hunts of my own with friends, but all we had were flashlights and cell phones(probably not the smartest idea in the world). While it was fun, it probably would've made the experience ten times better if we'd had equipment, brought someone with more experience, and if more than one of us actually believed in it. Skeptics make it very hard for the experience to be enjoyable, though it is fun to bring at least one along to see if they experience anything that might change their minds.
There are many things you should keep in mind if you do decide to do this. Number one is: NEVER GO ALONE! This is dangerous for many obvious reasons. It is probably a good idea to prepare for the worst, so bring things along that you can use to get help such as cell phones. It is not recommended to go out and try this right away if you are very inexperienced with it. At least read up and maybe even take some classes on ghost hunting if you can afford it. If something feels threatening, don't hesitate to take off in the other direction, just make sure your group sticks together. Don't taunt whatever you come in contact with, this is just not a good idea at all, even when you are dealing with real people in real life. It also is better if you are open to the experience, nothing is really going to happen if you don't believe in it. Lastly, If you can afford it, it would definitely be a great idea to invest in equipment such as 35mm cameras, EMF Detectors, digital cameras, tape recorders, and so on.
Here is an awesome site, they even offer home study classes on ghost hunting!
Another extremely helpful site is for ghost hunting equipment. Last, but not least this website has more information than you will ever need to learn more about ghost hunting.
