Best Fictional Castles
A school, a restaurant, or somebody's home are all good settings for television shows, movies and video games but my favorite setting of all is a castle.
Bowser's Castle - Bowser is the arch-villain of the Super Mario Brothers, Mario and Luigi. There are a few things you can always expect to find in Bowser's castles. First of all there are always lava pits. Second there are always some of Bowser's minions. Third is of course Bowser himself. Finally the last thing that is always found in Bowser's castles is a captive Princess Peach. Seriously, that girl gets kidnapped more times than Kim Bauer on 24 or as I like to call it, Kimnapped.
Castlevania - The first video game system I ever had was the Nintendo Entertainment System and one of the first games I ever loved on the system was Castlevania. Castlevania is about a war that has gone on for centuries between the Belmont family and Dracula. Every hundred years Dracula is resurrected and it is up to the Belmonts to defeat him. The first Castlevania game is a classic. In the first Castlevania you fight your way through Dracula's castle to find him but along the way you must fight a Phantom Bat, Queen Medusa, The Mummy, Frankenstein amp; Igor, the Grim Reaper, and then finally Dracula.
Castle Doom - Castle Doom is the lair of Marvel Comics character, Doctor Doom. Castle Doom is a 110 room castle that was built in the 16th century by a Latverian nobleman named Count Sabbat. Dr. Doom has made some improvements though. Doom constructed the exterior walls with reinforced steel and also reinforced the interior doors as well. Castle Doom also has a force field if anyone tries to attack. Inside the castle there are stunners, shock fields and gas emitters that can fill the room with knock-out gas. Plus Doom's castle is guarded by his Doombots. If you somehow manage to get through all of that then you still have to take on Doom himself.
Castle of Greyskull - Castle of Greyskull is the castle from the television series He-Man. The Castle of Greyskull is the home of one of He-Man's allies, the Sorceress. It is also the Castle of Greyskull that gives Prince Adam the ability to turn into He-Man. Once Skeletor finally finds out that the Castle of Greyskull is the source of He-Man's power, he is often trying to capture it or destroy it.
Hyrule Castle - Hyrule is the home land of Zelda and Link from the Legend of Zelda series. Hyrule Castle doesn't make its first appearance until the third Legend of Zelda game but it has been in most of the Zelda games since then. The appearance seems to change slightly in each game but a few things remain the same. The castle is usually white and has tall angular spires with green and purple rooftops. Another thing that is usually the same is that Princess Zelda is usually not there because like Princess Peach she has been Kimnapped.
